Green and promising
Originally created for the Federal Garden Show in 1939, Killesberg park belongs to the so-called Green U of Stuttgart and - far more important- it is one of the most popular attractions in Stuttgart.
The Killesberg park offers 50 hectares of park, well maintained with lots of lovely flower beds, rose trees and wonderful old trees. Whatever the season, the park is worthwhile a visit. Discover stunning magnolia blossom, the smell of roses, during the fall dahlias exhibition or take a look at the wintry landscape.
Since 2001 is at the highest point of the park the 42 meter high viewing tower from which people have a fascinating view into all four directions and almost all over Stuttgart. For younger guests, the park has plenty to offer: there are various animal enclosures, a large playground and the biggest attraction of the Parks- the Killesberg train ride. This is a narrow gauge railway, which operates throughout the warm months and leads you through the park. Enjoy coffee and snacks in the Café Killesberg and the milk bar.
On the terrace below the observation tower you can have fun during the summer months at the fair ground with its beautifully restored carousel, swings, fun fair artists, fresh waffles and much more.
Right next to Killesberg park is in the North of the city the lido and in the South West is the listed Weißenhofsiedlung and Kochenhofsiedlung.
Get to this stunning location by public transport using tram line U5 and U12 or by bus 43,44,50 and 57.
